What is a temporary resident permit?
The temporary resident permit is an entry visa that allows people who have been deemed inadmissible to Canada to enter and stay for a limited time. This permit is only granted to those who have a legitimate reason to enter or remain in Canada for reasons of safety or health. Even if the reason for your denial of entry is minor, you can still be granted a temporary resident permit if you demonstrate a legitimate reason for entering the country. Even if you provide all of these reasons, there is no guarantee that you will be granted a temporary resident permit.
How do I apply for a temporary resident permit?
If their country's eTA was denied, citizens of eTA-required countries could apply for a temporary resident permit. Nonetheless, the permit's issuance is contingent on the reason for the inadmissibility and the circumstances surrounding it. Check with your country's visa office as the form to fill out may differ from one country to the next. So, before applying, conduct the necessary research.
If your home country requires you to apply for a visitor visa, you must do so. You will also be required to submit documents explaining why you are justified in coming to Canada and why you were denied. Following your submission, you will be interviewed by a visa officer to confirm all of the information you provided.
How long you can stay in Canada
If you want to visit Canada for a week, you can apply for a temporary resident permit. Finally, you must leave the country before the permit's expiration date or begin processing a new permit before the former's expiration date. However, once you leave the country, the visa is considered invalid, and the officer in charge has the authority to cancel your permit at any time.
